I think your client speaks great wisdom, its amaizing that our perception of the glass being half full is a Positive one, and how it overlooks our ability to make choices.

There are times when a Half or full glass of Air could save a life, metaphorically speaking.

Bottom line what I make up is that from the metaphor of the glass being always full, are able to make a choice as to what serves us, whether others beleive it to be positive or negative.
